Waiting…in Anticipation for the 2017 National Women’s Gathering!

Do you as a woman or a group of church women ever find yourself feeling like you are all alone in your faith journey? I think about Ruth’s words to Naomi, “Where you go, I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God.” (Ruth 1:16 NRSV). These words speak about the importance of walking our journey in community.

This is why I am so excited about the upcoming National Women’s Gathering, having experienced the Gathering in 2014! This event offers such an amazing opportunity to be affirmed in our faith journey as Christian women from across the country, all walks of life, and from churches of all sizes.

I think back to the 2014 with yet living memories of the key note speakers who moved me deeply. Also, I will never forget the final day when one of the First Nations women from Winnipeg Inner City Mission spoke about how the event had been transformational in her life!

This event afforded me an opportunity to reconnect with friends from previous churches, to meet new people, and to visit my choice of workshops to nourish my faith.
I came away determined to encourage more women from my congregation to go and am excited to say that we have at least five who have decided to attend. I know that we will be blessed by this event.

If you haven’t ever attended, make this coming event your first and please track me down as I would love to meet you and hear your story!

Peace, Gwen Ament

What a wonderful reflection about the Women’s Gathering. Thank you, Gwen! As the convenor of the Planning Team, I know you will not be disappointed with the next Women’s Gathering. I’m looking forward to meeting you there again, as well as many other women.

Gwen, you have put into print my thoughts completely regarding the 2014 Gathering.
I attended the 2011 one and am trying to encourage more from my congregation to attend this 2017 Gathering.
I look forward to connecting with you in May, Gwen.
